Senate Bill 2882

AN ACT TO DESIGNATE A CERTAIN SEGMENT OF MISSISSIPPI HIGHWAY 552 WITHIN CLAIBORNE AND JEFFERSON COUNTIES, MISSISSIPPI, AS THE "DR. WALTER WASHINGTON PARKWAY"; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  That segment of Mississippi Highway 552 beginning at Alcorn State University within Claiborne County and extending to its intersection with U.S. Highway 61 in Jefferson County shall be known and designated as "Dr. Walter Washington Parkway."

     (2)  The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching the highway.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2011.
