Senate Bill 2918
AN ACT TO REQUIRE PERSONS USING CERTAIN TYPES OF ELEVATED HUNTING STANDS TO USE A FULL BODY SAFETY HARNESS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) Any person using a portable climbing tree stand, a portable lock-on type of tree stand or any similar temporary moveable elevated hunting stand, whether for hunting or other purposes, shall wear a full body safety harness, according to the manufacturer's suggested methods of attachment, adjustment and application while in or upon the stand.
(2) A violation of this section is a Class III violation and is punishable as provided in Section 49-7-101.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2010.
