AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF GREENVILLE, MISSISSIPPI, TO ANNUALLY CONTRIBUTE A PORTION OF THE REVENUE THAT THE CITY RECEIVES FROM THE FEES IMPOSED ON THE GROSS REVENUE OF GAMING VESSELS, TO THE GREENVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THE PROMOTION OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS OF THE DISTRICT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The governing authorities of the City of Greenville, Mississippi, are authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to annually contribute, from any available funds, an amount not to exceed fourteen and two-tenths percent (14.2%) of the revenue that the city receives from the fees imposed on the gross revenue of gaming vessels under Chapters 959 and 960, Local and Private Laws of 1997, to the Greenville Public School District for the promotion of educational programs of the district.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
