Senate Concurrent Resolution 576
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION TO REQUEST THE DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE TO STUDY THE FEASIBILITY OF PHASING OUT AND ELIMINATING THE IMPOSITION OF AD VALOREM TAXES ON ALL PROPERTY IN THIS STATE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That the Department of Revenue is hereby requested to study the feasibility of phasing out and eliminating the imposition of ad valorem taxes on all property in this state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That on or before January 15, 2017, the Department of Revenue shall transmit its written report of the feasibility study to the Legislature, along with its recommendations and an estimate of the fiscal impact of the recommendations.
