A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE HORN LAKE HIGH SCHOOL "LADY EAGLES" GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM AND COACH JANNA THOMPSON FOR THEIR SECOND CONSECUTIVE CLASS 6A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
WHEREAS, Horn Lake High School "Lady Eagles" Girls Basketball Team won a second consecutive Class 6A MHSAA Girls Basketball Championship by defeating Olive Branch 52-42 on March 14, 2015, at the Mississippi Coliseum; and
WHEREAS, Coach Janna Thompson gave her senior-laden Horn Lake squad a reminder at halftime. The elder stateswomen of the MHSAA Class 6A Girls Basketball Championship sat in their locker room trailing Olive Branch. "I just reminded them, we don't get this chance ever again. Horn Lake's four senior starters listened, scoring 26 of their team's 32 second-half points, en route to a 52-42 win Saturday night; and
WHEREAS, the key player in the Championship Game was Alexyse Thomas. The senior captured her second straight State Title with 17 points and nine rebounds. She scored 13 points in the second half; and
WHEREAS, the 2014-2015 "Lady Eagles" Girls Basketball Team 6A Championship Roster is: Jalyn McClain, Brayanta Conley, Tranika Echols, Chrissah Shaw, Shernique Adams, Rodneysha Martin, TaéLour Richardson, Alondrea Rush, Ericka Richardson and Alexyse Thomas; and Coach Janna Thompson; and
