Senate Concurrent Resolution 660

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING JAYCEE TUTOR ON BEING SELECTED AS THE 2010 STATE GAMES OF MISSISSIPPI AT&T FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR.

     WHEREAS, Jaycee Tutor, an exceptional athlete from Prentiss County, Mississippi, competed in the 2010 State Games of Mississippi slow-pitch softball event and was selected as the 2010 State Games of Mississippi AT&T Female Athlete of the Year; and

     WHEREAS, at the 2010 Games, 11-year-old Jaycee, whose natural talent makes her a unique and versatile athlete, has been playing softball for four years, and as pitcher for the Crossfire, has helped lead her team to a Bronze victory; and

     WHEREAS, having overcome obstacles in her short life due to a birth defect, which required her to undergo surgery on her left leg before the age of two years, and after sustaining serious injuries in a car accident at age four, Jaycee has persevered with the spirit of a true champion.  After the unexpected loss of her father when she was seven, she dedicates each game played in tribute to him, in an inspirational testament of her faith to be successful in all of her undertakings; and

     WHEREAS, besides her success in the 2010 State Games of Mississippi, Jaycee's accomplishments in softball entail having won the individual medal at the All-Tournament 2010 World Series; member of the 2010 Mississippi USSSA 10 and Under Slow-Pitch State Tournament Championship Team; member of the Memorial Day Blast Fast-Pitch Tournament winning team; 2010 Amory Railroad Festival Softball Tournament winning team; and 2010 ASA 10 and Under Tournament Winning Team; and

     WHEREAS, an outstanding young athlete who has made quite the major impression on those in her company as she strives to perform her utmost best for her team, Jaycee showcases great sportsmanship and strong compassion to win, which translates into an effortless ability to stand out as an exceptionally rare sports talent; and

     WHEREAS, Jaycee's enthusiasm and talent for softball reflect great pride upon herself, her family, her teachers and the State of Mississippi; and

     WHEREAS, it is with pride that we recognize this young Mississippi athlete who has brought honor to her community and state:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Jaycee Tutor on being selected as the 2010 State Games of Mississippi AT&T Female Athlete of the Year and express best wishes for continued success in all of her future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Jaycee Tutor and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
