A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE HERNANDO HIGH SCHOOL "TIGERS" BOYS SOCCER TEAM AND HEAD COACH MARK HOGAN FOR WINNING THE 2024 MISSISSIPPI HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION (MHSAA) CLASS 7A BOYS SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP.
WHEREAS, the Hernando High School "Tigers" Boys Soccer Team emerged victorious in the 2024 MHSAA Class 7A Boys Soccer Championship held at Ridgeland High School. They secured their title by defeating the Northwest Rankin "Cougars" with a 2-0 score line on February 17, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the players celebrated their hard-fought victory, etching their names into the annals of school soccer history; and
WHEREAS, the Hernando High School "Tigers" Boys Soccer Team Roster: Osvaldo Macias, Isael Cruz, Gavin Walker, Vincent Walters, Dylan Jones, Arturo Tapia, Calvin Harrison, Will Uselton, Jack Sears, Zander McBride, Wilson Crain, Tyler Starnes, Jackson Hale, Iker Olvera, Ryan Martens, Leo Frank, Jack McCaleb, Logan Kidd, Wyatt Sharp, Conner Couch, Matthew Walton, Isaac Jones, Daniel Van Beurden, Yash Patal, Lexton Callahan, Landon Robertson, Liam Frank, Brenton Tower, Leland Oyler, Anthony Balderas, Van Rowell, Saul Lopez Huerta, Samuel Loayza and Callaway Metzger; and Head Coach Mark Hogan; and
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize this group of student athletes who have brought honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Hernando High School "Tigers" Boys Soccer Team and Head Coach Mark Hogan for winning the 2024 Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 7A Boys Soccer Championship, and extend to the team, coaches, parents and sponsors our best wishes for future success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Coach Mark Hogan and Hernando High School Principal Duane Case, forwarded to the DeSoto County Board of Education, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
