A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING TUPELO CHRISTIAN PREPARATORY SCHOOL "EAGLES" SENIOR GUARD CLAIRE GOLDING FROM BELDEN, MISSISSIPPI, AS THE STATEWIDE STATISTICAL LEADER IN POINTS PER GAME FOR THE 2015-2016 SEASON.

     WHEREAS, Belden, Mississippi's Claire Golding has culminated her Senior Year as Guard on the Tupelo Christian Preparatory School "Eagles" Girls Basketball Team as the highest-scoring women's high school basketball player in the State of Mississippi for 2015-2016; and

     WHEREAS, MaxPreps sports statistical service reports that Claire Golding averaged 29.5 points per game in 2015-2016 compared to a National Average of 4.2 points per game; and

     WHEREAS, Claire exhibited great composure during her varsity career at Tupelo Christian Preparatory High School.  From her junior high through her senior years, she played 121 varsity games averaging 18.8 points per game and 4.1 rebounds per game, with an average of one assist per game and 2.5 steals per game; and

     WHEREAS, through Clare's excellent play, she has brought honor to her school, her community and to the State of Mississippi as an example to all student athletes in the state:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby recognize Tupelo Christian Preparatory School "Eagles" Senior Guard Claire Golding from Belden, Mississippi, as the Statewide Statistical Leader in points per game for the 2015-2016 season, and extend to Claire and her family our best wishes for future success.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Claire Golding and her family, forwarded to the Board of Trustees of Tupelo Christian Preparatory School and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
