A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT appropriating funds to the department of health and human services, division of public health, for continued funding of planned parenthood, inc., and affiliated organizations; and repealing the prohibition on funding for planned parenthood during the 2011‑2013 fiscal biennium.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health, the sum of three hundred forty‑three thousand dollars ($343,000) for the 2012‑2013 fiscal year. These funds shall be used to continue contracts and grants to Planned Parenthood, Inc., and affiliated organizations that provide preventive services critical to the health of women, including cervical cancer screening and breast cancer screening.

SECTION 2.  Section 10.19 of S.L. 2011‑145 is repealed.

SECTION 3.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2012.
