A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT to make technical corrections to the general statutes as recommended by the general statutes commission.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. G.S. 28A‑15‑9.1 and G.S. 28A‑21‑3.1 are repealed.
SECTION 2. G.S. 135‑45.8(13) reads as rewritten:
"(13) Charges for routine eye examinations, eyeglasses or other corrective lenses (except for cataract lenses certified as medically necessary for aphakia persons) and, except as authorized under G.S. 58‑3‑285, hearing aids or examinations for the prescription or fitting thereof.

SECTION 3.(a) G.S. 148‑132(5) is repealed.
SECTION 3.(b) G.S. 148‑132, as amended by subsection (a) of this section, reads as rewritten:
"§ 148‑132. Distribution of products and services.
(a) The Division of Correction Enterprises is empowered and authorized to market and sell products and services produced by Correction Enterprises to any of the following entities:
(1) Any public agency or institution owned, managed, or controlled by the State.
(2) Any county, city, or town in this State.
(3) Any federal, state, or local public agency or institution in any other state of the union.
(4) An entity or organization that has tax‑exempt status pursuant to section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and also receives local, state, or federal grant funding.
(5) Repealed.
(b) Products purchased by State and local governmental employees and retirees under the authority of subdivision (a)(5) of this section before July 1, 2012, may not be resold."
SECTION 3.(c) This section becomes effective July 1, 2012.
SECTION 4. Unless otherwise provided, this act is effective when it becomes law.
