A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to appropriate operating funds for the North Carolina Forest Service's Linville river tree nursery.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.(a)  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services the sum of two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) in recurring funds for the 2017‑2018 fiscal year to be allocated to operating support for the North Carolina Forest Service's Linville River Tree Nursery in Avery County.

SECTION 1.(b)  These funds shall be budgeted in budget code 13700 and may be used only for operation of the Linville River Tree Nursery. If the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services permanently closes the nursery, the funds allocated by this section shall revert to the General Fund.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2017.
