A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to appropriate additional funds for child advocacy centers.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Health and Human Services the sum of five million dollars ($5,000,000) for the 2017‑2018 fiscal year for child advocacy centers. The funds shall be allocated as follows:

(1)        Up to one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for each child advocacy center in good standing with Children's Advocacy Centers of North Carolina, Inc.

(2)        One million dollars ($1,000,000) to Children's Advocacy Centers of North Carolina, Inc., to establish new child advocacy centers in this State where a child advocacy center is not currently located.

(3)        One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to Children's Advocacy Centers of North Carolina, Inc., for its operations.

(4)        Any remaining funds shall revert to the General Fund.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2017.
