Short Title:      Inaccessible Liquid Resources/D-SNAP.

A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT requiring the department of health and human services to request that temporarily inaccessible liquid resources be deemed inaccessible liquid resources in determining benefits eligibility when submitting a waiver request under the disaster supplemental nutrition assistance program.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  Part 5 of Article 2 of Chapter 108A of the General Statutes is amended by adding a new section to read:

"§ 108A‑51.2.  Waivers; temporarily inaccessible liquid resources.

In submitting a waiver request pursuant to the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D‑SNAP) for an area that has received a Presidential disaster declaration of Individual Assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Department shall request that temporarily inaccessible liquid resources be deemed inaccessible liquid resources in determining benefits eligibility in accordance with federal law."

SECTION 2.  This act is effective when it becomes law.
