A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT to support the north carolina department of health and human services in its effort to transform the state's child welfare system.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Social Services, the sum of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for the 2016‑2017 fiscal year. These funds shall be used to support the Division in its effort to transform the State's child welfare system in ensuring the safety, permanency, and well‑being of the State's most vulnerable children in response to North Carolina's recent failure of the Child and Family Services Review (CFSR) and supplementary findings identified in the independent review, as directed by the General Assembly.
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2016.
