STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Fourteen
AN ACT allowing the department of safety to conduct hearings on behalf of other jurisdictions.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Hearings on Behalf of Other Jurisdictions. Amend RSA 260 by inserting after section 6-b the following new section:
260:6-c Hearings on Behalf of Other Jurisdictions. Upon request by a New Hampshire resident whose operating privileges or motor vehicle registration privileges are under suspension or revocation in another state, United States territory, or Canadian province which has caused New Hampshire to impose a reciprocal suspension or revocation in this state, and with the assent of the out-of-state jurisdiction, the bureau of hearings may hold a hearing and make findings and determinations on behalf of the other jurisdiction regarding the payment of fines, clearing of defaults of court appearances, or completion of alcohol education and treatment programs, which shall become effective when accepted by the appropriate authority in the other state, territory, or province.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2015.
