This bill exempts public transit bus operators from the prohibition on using a device to change, disrupt, or interfere with the operation of a traffic signal.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Seventeen

 

AN ACT relative to interference with traffic devices.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  New Subparagraph; Interference With Traffic Signals; Public Transit Bus Operators.  Amend RSA 265:15, II(c) by inserting after subparagraph (4) the following new subparagraph:

(5)  Fixed route public transit bus service operators while in service.

2  Interference With Traffic Signals; Applicability of Exemptions.  Amend RSA 265:15, II(d) to read as follows:

(d)  The exemptions set forth in subparagraphs (c)(1)-[(c)(4)] (c)(5) shall only apply to such personnel when they are operating licensed ambulances, licensed fire apparatus, [or] government-owned vehicles, or fixed route public transit buses.

3  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect January 1, 2018.
