STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty

 

AN ACT relative to the growth of hemp.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  Hemp Permitted.  Amend RSA 439-A:3 to read as follows:

439-A:3  Hemp Permitted.  Hemp is an agricultural product which may be grown as a crop, processed, possessed, and commercially traded in New Hampshire.  Any grower[, processor, or commercial trader] of hemp shall be licensed by the United States Department of Agriculture.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.

AS AMENDED BY THE HOUSE (AMENDMENT #2020-0796h)

 

AN ACT relative to the growth of hemp.

METHODOLOGY:

This bill amends RSA 439-A to remove the requirement that processors and commercial traders be licensed by the United States Department of Agriculture.  The New Hampshire Department of Agriculture, Markets and Food indicates the bill, as amended by the House, will have no fiscal impact on the Department.
