STATEMENT
This bill directs each board of education to annually notify the parents and guardians of its students that certain student information may be disclosed by the school district to an outside party without prior written parental consent. The notification must list the types of student information that may be disclosed. The notification must also inform the parent or guardian of his right to prevent the disclosure of his child's student information without prior written consent by notifying the district in writing.
This bill repeals a section of law that prohibits a school district and board of trustees of a charter school from disclosing personally identifiable information about a student on its website without receiving prior written consent from the student's parent or guardian on a form developed by the Department of Education
