SYNOPSIS
Requires certain hospitals with on-site clinical laboratories to ensure in-network coverage for laboratory services if hospital is in-network.

An Act concerning clinical laboratories in hospitals and supplementing Title 26 of the Revised Statutes.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, if a general acute care hospital licensed pursuant to P.L.1971, c.136 (C.26:2H-1 et seq.) has an on-site clinical laboratory, the hospital shall ensure that services provided by the on-site clinical laboratory are covered on an in-network basis by all health benefits plans with which the hospital is in-network.
2. This act shall take effect on the 90th day next following enactment.
STATEMENT
This bill provides that, notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, if a general acute care hospital licensed pursuant to P.L.1971, c.136 (C.26:2H-1 et seq.) has an on-site clinical laboratory, the hospital shall ensure that services provided by the on-site clinical laboratory are covered on an in-network basis by all health benefits plans with which the hospital is in-network.
