SYNOPSIS
Requires State Treasurer to submit report to Legislature every six months identifying deadlines for applications for federal funds by State agencies.

An Act concerning deadlines for applications by State agencies for federal funds and supplementing Title 52 of the Revised Statutes.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. The State Treasurer shall submit to the Legislature, pursuant to section 2 of P.L.1991, c.164 (C.52:14-19.1), at intervals of six months, a report identifying the deadlines, occurring in the six months immediately following the date of the report, for applications by State agencies within, or in but not of, the Executive Branch of State government for federal funds from or for any program, project, or purpose. The first report shall be submitted within 30 days following the effective date of this act, P.L. , c. (pending before the Legislature as this bill).
Each report shall:
describe in reasonable detail the program, project, or purpose;
identify the federal law or regulation pursuant to which the program, project, or purpose was created and the funds have been made available;
provide the address for the federal website that provides information on the program, project, or purpose and the available funds;
provide the name and address of the federal office or official to which or to whom the application for funds is to be submitted;
explain in reasonable detail why a deadline has not or will not be met and whether an extension has or will be granted;
summarize the history of the receipt of such funds for such programs, projects, or purposes by the State within the past 10 years;
provide a list of reports prepared on the use of such funds in the past and the location of those reports; and
provide such other information as the President of the Senate or the Speaker of the General Assembly may request.
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill requires the State Treasurer to submit to the Legislature a report, at intervals of six months, identifying the deadlines, occurring in the six months immediately following the date of the report, for applications by State agencies within, or in but not of, the Executive Branch of State government for federal funds from or for any program, project, or purpose.
