SYNOPSIS

     Requires certain notification prior to mosquito control spraying applications.

     As reported by the Assembly Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee on March 6, 2017, with amendments.

  


An Act concerning mosquito control and supplementing Title 26 of the Revised Statutes.

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    a.  The State Mosquito Control Commission shall:  (1) notify any registered 1[beekeeper five days] apiarist at least 24 hours1 prior to performing within 1[five] three1 miles of a registered apiary any mosquito control spraying application 1[that may be toxic to honeybees] by telephone, regular or certified mail with sufficient lead time for the notice to be delivered the day before the application, fax, or email1 ; and (2) post notice on their website 1[five days] no later than 12 hours1 prior to 1beginning1 any mosquito control spraying application.

     b.    Any mosquito control spraying application shall be conducted before dawn or after dusk.

     3.    This act shall take effect immediately.
