SYNOPSIS
Requires certain hospitals to complete Leapfrog Hospital Survey.

An Act concerning hospital data reporting and supplementing Title 26 of the Revised Statutes.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. Each general hospital licensed pursuant to P.L.1971, c.136 (C.26:2H-1 et seq.) that delivers a newborn child shall fully and accurately complete the Leapfrog Hospital Survey for the corresponding reporting period.
2. The Commissioner of Health, pursuant to the "Administrative Procedure Act," P.L.1968, c.410 (C.52:14B-1 et seq.), may adopt rules and regulations as may be necessary to implement the provisions of this act.
3. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill requires hospitals that deliver newborn children to fully and accurately complete the Leapfrog Hospital Survey for the corresponding reporting period.
The Leapfrog Group is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting safety, quality, and transparency in the provision of health care in the United States. The Leapfrog survey assigns patient safety grades to hospitals and summarizes hospital performance data according to inpatient care management, medication safety, maternity care, infections and injuries, pediatric care, surgeon volume, and surgical appropriateness.
