SYNOPSIS

     Requires State Capitol Joint Management Commission display POW-MIA Chair of Honor in State Capital building.

An Act requiring the State Capitol Joint Management Commission to display a POW-MIA Chair of Honor in the State Capital building, and supplementing chapter 31 of Title 52 of the Revised Statutes. 

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    The State Capital Joint Management Commission shall enter into an agreement to obtain a commemorative chair honoring persons designated as POW-MIA.  The chair shall feature the logo of the National League of POW-MIA families, and shall be displayed in an appropriate location in the State Capital building. 

 

     2.    The State Capital Joint Management Commission shall select an alternative appropriate location to display the POW-MIA Chair of Honor during renovations of the State Capital building. 

 

     3.    This act shall take effect immediately. 

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     In recent years, commemorative chairs honoring person's designated as POW-MIA have been placed in prominent locations across the country.  This bill requires the State Capital Joint Management Commission to obtain and display in the State Capital building a commemorative chair honoring persons designated as POW-MIA. 

     The State Capital Joint Management Commission will select an alternative appropriate location to display the chair during renovations of the State Capital building.
