SYNOPSIS
Requires non-citizen designation on driver's license, driving permit, or identification card.

An Act concerning driver's licenses, driving permits, and identification cards, and supplementing Title 39 of the Revised Statutes.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. The Chief Administrator of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission shall conspicuously display the designation "NON-CITIZEN" on a State basic driver's license, probationary driver's license, examination permit, special learner's permit, or identification card issued to an individual who is not a United States citizen. The designation shall be made in accordance with procedures prescribed by the chief administrator.
2. This act shall take effect on the first day of the ninth month following enactment.
STATEMENT
This bill requires the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) to include a "NON-CITIZEN" designation on a State driver's license or permit, or non-driver identification card, issued to an individual who is not a United States citizen. Under the provisions of the bill, the designation is required to be made in accordance with procedures established by the Chief Administrator of the MVC.
