SYNOPSIS

     Requires DMVA to send Servicemembers' Advisory Notice to members of National Guard called to active duty.

An Act concerning members of the New Jersey National Guard called to active duty and supplementing Title 38A of the New Jersey Statutes.

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    The Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs shall send, to each member of the New Jersey National Guard called to State or federal active duty, a Servicemembers' Advisory Notice.  Such notice shall include, but not be limited to, information on State resources available for assistance to the member's family and the contact information for the relevant Judge Advocate General office.

 

     2.    This act shall take effect on the 30th day following enactment.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     This bill would require the Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs to send, to each member of the New Jersey National Guard called to State or federal active duty, a Servicemembers' Advisory Notice.  The notice would include, but not be limited to, information on State resources available for assistance to the member's family and the contact information for the relevant Judge Advocate General's office.
