40A:14-34. The governing body of any municipality may raise and appropriate funds to be granted to the boards of fire commissioners of any fire district or volunteer fire companies located therein, up to a total annual appropriation of [$90,000.00 annually] $150,000, which shall be adjusted biennially for inflation by the Director of the Division of Local Government Services in accordance with the cost-of-living adjustment promulgated pursuant to section 4 of P.L.1983, c.49 (C.40A:4-45.1a).
