SYNOPSIS
Requires DOC to provide training to inmates for certain post-release employment.

An Act concerning inmates and supplementing Title 30 of the Revised Statutes.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. a. The Commissioner of Corrections, in consultation with employers who agree to provide post-release employment to inmates, shall provide training to inmates that prepares them for employment with these employers.
b. The commissioner shall adopt rules and regulations pursuant to the "Administrative Procedure Act," P.L.1968, c.410 (C.52:14B-1 et seq.) to effectuate the purposes of this act.
2. This act shall take effect on the first day of the sixth month after enactment.
STATEMENT
This bill requires the Department of Corrections to provide training to inmates for certain post-release employment.
Specifically, under the provisions of this bill, the Commissioner of Corrections, in consultation with employers who agree to provide post-release employment to inmates, is required to provide training to inmates that prepares them for employment with these employers.
