Authorizes hunters to wear hunter's hot pink caps and outer garments as alternative to hunter's orange.

An Act concerning hunting garments and amending P.L.1973, c.169.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. Section 1 of P.L.1973, c.169 (C.23:4-13.1) is amended to read as follows:
1. a. Any person while hunting deer, rabbit, hare, squirrel, fox, or game birds, other than waterfowl, with firearms in this State, shall wear a cap of fluorescent hunter's orange or hunter's hot pink, or some other outer garment containing at least 200 square inches of fluorescent hunter's orange or hunter's hot pink material which shall be visible from all sides. The penalty for violation of this section shall be [$50.00] $50 for each offense.
b. "Hunter's hot pink" means a daylight fluorescent hot pink color which is equally or more visible than hunter's orange and which meets such specifications as may be prescribed therefor by the Division of Fish and Wildlife in the Department of Environmental Protection.
"Hunter's orange" means a daylight fluorescent orange color with a dominant wave length between 595 and 605 nanometers, excitation purity not less than 85%, and luminance factor of not less than 40%.

2. This act shall take effect immediately.
