SYNOPSIS
Permits undersheriff to perform administrative duties on behalf of county sheriff.

An Act concerning undersheriffs and supplementing chapter 50 of Title 2A of the New Jersey Statutes.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. The sheriff of each county may, by written designation filed with the county clerk, select one duly trained and qualified undersheriff to perform any of the administrative duties provided under chapter 50 of Title 2A of the New Jersey Statutes on behalf of the county sheriff, so long as the county sheriff deems that it is necessary and appropriate for those duties to be carried out by the undersheriff.
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill allows the sheriff to designate an undersheriff to perform certain administrative duties on behalf of the county sheriff. These administrative duties may include tasks such as assisting in the sale of certain premises, conveyance of deeds, and following the uniform procedures for the sale of mortgaged premises that are under foreclosure action.
