Notwithstanding any other provisions of law, any individual who is an honorably discharged veteran, as defined in P.L.1947, c.263, c.1 (C.38:18A-1 et seq.), who is unemployed during the 52 week period following the honorable discharge, as provided in subsection (m) of R.S.43:21-19, shall be entitled to receive unemployment benefits under R.S.43:21-1 et seq. for the maximum total amount of 26 times the individual's weekly benefit rate in any benefit year, regardless of the number of base weeks worked or the amount of contributions paid by the individual or any employer of the individual.
