STATEMENT TO

 

SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION No. 80

 

with committee amendments

 

STATE OF NEW JERSEY

 

DATED:  NOVEMBER 9, 2015

 

      The Assembly Telecommunications and Utilities Committee reports favorably and with committee amendments Senate Joint Resolution No. 80.        

      As amended and reported, this joint resolution designates the third week in October of each year as "New Jersey Careers in Utilities Week," to recognize the State's investor-owned public utility workforce and the various employment opportunities public utilities offer to thousands of hard working men and women, contributing to the welfare and prosperity of this State. The resolution also respectfully requests the Governor to issue an annual proclamation calling upon public officials and citizens of this State to observe "New Jersey Careers in Utilities Week" with appropriate activities and programs.

      As amended and reported by the committee, Senate Joint Resolution No. 80 is identical to Assembly Joint Resolution No. 113, which was also reported by the committee on this date.

 

COMMITTEE AMENDMENTS

      The committee made grammatical and technical changes to the joint resolution to make it identical to Assembly Joint Resolution No. 113.
