        AN ACT to amend the penal law, in relation to intimidating a  victim  or
          witness
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Section 215.15 of the penal law is amended by adding a  new
     2  subdivision 3 to read as follows:
     3    3.  With  the  intent  to harass, annoy, threaten, alarm or intimidate
     4  such person, or cause legal harm or consequences  to  such  person,  and
     5  outside of his or her official duties, he or she reports to any federal,
     6  state or municipal agency or department:
     7    (a) the citizenship or immigration status of a person who:
     8    (i) has been the victim of a criminal act described in this part; or
     9    (ii) who is seeking an order of protection; or
    10    (b)  the citizenship or immigration status of a person who is a family
    11  member of a person who has been the victim of a criminal  act  described
    12  in this part, or is seeking an order of protection.
    13    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
