MAGNARELLI, COOK, STECK, PEOPLES-STOKES, LUPARDO -- read once and referred to the Committee on Election Law -- commit- tee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recom- mitted to said committee AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to requiring that all printed political campaign mailing pieces, containing or made of recyclable material, include a message about recycling the printed materials The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The election law is amended by adding a new section 3-111 2 to read as follows: 3 § 3-111. Recycling of campaign and political literature. All poli- 4 tical literature in New York state, whether hand-billed or mailed, 5 containing or made of recyclable material, shall have affixed to it, the 6 recycling logo signified by three chasing arrows in a triangular config- 7 uration, and the following printed message: "This material is recycla- 8 ble. Please properly recycle after use." 9 § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after 10 it shall have become a law.
