STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 2246 2019-2020 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY January 22, 2019 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. GUNTHER, CUSICK, D'URSO, CROUCH, RAIA -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to increasing the penalties for passing a stopped school bus The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Paragraph b of subdivision 2 of section 510 of the vehicle 2 and traffic law is amended by adding a new subparagraph (xviii) to read 3 as follows: 4 (xviii) for a period of sixty days where the holder is convicted of a 5 violation of any provision of subdivision (a) of section eleven hundred 6 seventy-four of this chapter within a period of eighteen months of a 7 previous violation of such subdivision. 8 § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of November next succeed- 9 ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
