       AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to unlawful use
         of a safety strobe light
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. The vehicle and traffic law is  amended  by  adding  a  new
    2  section 1115-a to read as follows:
    3    S 1115-A. UNLAWFUL USE OF A SAFETY STROBE LIGHT.  IT SHALL BE UNLAWFUL
    4  FOR ANY PERSON TO USE A SAFETY STROBE LIGHT FOR THE PURPOSE OF SWITCHING
    5  A   TRAFFIC   SIGNAL.  THIS  PROVISION  SHALL  NOT  APPLY  TO  EMERGENCY
    6  AGENCIES/PERSONNEL OR LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES AND PERSONS AUTHORIZED BY
    7  SAID AGENCIES TO USE SAID LIGHTS.
    8    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
