STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 2509 2023-2024 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY January 26, 2023 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. DILAN -- read once and referred to the Committee on Real Property Taxation AN ACT in relation to placing a moratorium on tax lien sales in a city with a population of one million or more The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, a 2 city with a population of one million or more shall place a moratorium 3 on tax lien sales until April 1, 2024 due to the financial hardships 4 placed on property owners as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. 5 § 2.
