       AN ACT to repeal subsection (vv) of section 606 of the tax law  relating
         to the family tax relief credit; and making an appropriation therefor
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Subsection (vv) of section 606 of the tax law is REPEALED.
    2    S  2.  The  sum  of  one  billion  three   hundred   million   dollars
    3  ($1,300,000,000)  is  hereby  appropriated  for  the  general support of
    4  education in the state out of any moneys in the state  treasury  in  the
    5  general  fund to the credit of the state purposes account, not otherwise
    6  appropriated, and made immediately available, for the purpose of  educa-
    7  tion. Such moneys shall be payable on the audit and warrant of the comp-
    8  troller  on vouchers certified or approved by the commissioner of educa-
    9  tion in the manner prescribed by law.
   10    S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
