          on  Health -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as
          amended and recommitted to said committee

        AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation  to  establishing  an
          Alzheimer's disease outreach and education program

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Subdivision 1 of section 207 of the public  health  law  is
     2  amended by adding a new paragraph (r) to read as follows:
     3    (r)  Alzheimer's  disease and other related dementias; including iden-
     4  tification of dementia in  health  care  facilities  including  but  not
     5  limited to hospitals, nursing homes, clinics and assisted living facili-
     6  ties; community support services, including caregiver support groups and
     7  services,  respite,  and  care management; and resources and information
     8  concerning Alzheimer's disease and any other  dementia  related  matters
     9  that  the  commissioner  and  director  of the office for the aging deem
    10  appropriate.
    11    § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
    12  it shall have become a law.
