CALHOUN -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Governmental Operations AN ACT to amend the state law, in relation to the state insect THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Section 86 of the state law, as added by chapter 626 of the 2 laws of 1989, is amended to read as follows: 3 S 86. State insect. The lady bug ([coccinella novemnotata] COLEOMEGIL- 4 LA MACULATA) shall be the official insect of the state of New York. 5 S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
