LEMONDES, McDONOUGH, DeSTEFANO -- read once and referred to the Committee on Governmental Employees -- recommitted to the Committee on Governmental Employees in accordance with Assembly Rule 3, sec. 2 -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee AN ACT in relation to authorizing Christopher Walser to take the compet- itive civil service examination for the position of police officer and be placed on the eligible list for employment as a full-time police officer for the village of Skaneateles police department The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 58 of the civil 2 service law, including the age requirements under paragraph (a) of 3 subdivision 1 of such section, or any other provision of law to the 4 contrary, Christopher Walser shall be eligible to take the competitive 5 civil service examination for the position of police officer and shall, 6 contingent upon his score on such examination, be eligible to be placed 7 on the eligible list for appointment as a full-time police officer for 8 the village of Skaneateles police department. 9 § 2. Christopher Walser shall otherwise be subject to the merit and 10 fitness provisions of the civil service law applicable to full-time 11 police officers. 12 § 3.
