DenDEKKER -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to requiring verbal warnings to be issued prior to the issuance of a parking violation THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. The vehicle and traffic law is amended by adding a new 2 section 1202-a to read as follows: 3 S 1202-A. VERBAL WARNING PRIOR TO PARKING VIOLATION. NO MOTOR VEHICLE, 4 OCCUPIED BY ONE OR MORE PERSONS, SHALL BE ISSUED A PARKING VIOLATION 5 UNLESS A VERBAL WARNING HAS FIRST BEEN ISSUED BY A MEMBER OF THE POLICE 6 DEPARTMENT, FIRE DEPARTMENT, THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION OR ANY 7 OTHER OFFICER OR ENTITY DESIGNATED WITH THE AUTHORITY TO ISSUE SUCH 8 VIOLATIONS. 9 S 2.
