       AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic  law,  in  relation  to  exhaust
         pipes on buses
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Section 375 of the vehicle and traffic law  is  amended  by
    2  adding a new subdivision 52 to read as follows:
    3    52.  EXHAUST  PIPES  ON  BUSES.  EVERY  BUS, AS DEFINED IN SECTION ONE
    4  HUNDRED FOUR OF THIS CHAPTER, MANUFACTURED FOR SALE IN THIS STATE ON AND
    5  AFTER JULY FIRST, TWO THOUSAND  THIRTEEN,  SHALL  BE  EQUIPPED  WITH  AN
    6  EXHAUST  SYSTEM  WHEREBY THE EXHAUST PIPE EMISSION IS AT THE UPPER RIGHT
    7  HAND CORNER OF THE REAR END OF SUCH VEHICLE.
    8    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
