Short title. This act shall be known and may be cited as 2 the "school energy efficiency collaborative act of 2016". 3 § 2. The public authorities law is amended by adding a new section 4 1882 to read as follows: 5 § 1882. School energy efficiency collaboration program. 1. The purpose 6 of the school energy collaborative program shall be to reduce redundan- 7 cies, raise awareness and promote the efficient implementation of public 8 school energy projects across New York state. 9 2. In developing this multidisciplinary collaborative program, the 10 authority shall work in partnership with the New York power authority, 11 the Long Island power authority, the state education department, the New 12 York association of school business officials, the New York state school 13 boards association, energy service companies, utility programs and other 14 school administrators. 15 3. The authority shall serve as the lead agency in developing a colla- 16 borative program by November first, two thousand seventeen and shall 17 serve as the lead contact for all public schools interested in pursuing 18 energy efficiency projects. 19 4. The collaborative program may provide support on: 20 (a) developing the technical aspects of energy projects; EXPLANATION--Matter in italics (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [] is old law to be omitted.
