CROUCH, GOODELL, JORDAN, MOLINARO -- read once and referred to the Committee on Local Governments AN ACT to amend the county law, in relation to district attorney sala- ries THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Section 700 of the county law is amended by adding a new 2 subdivision 12 to read as follows: 3 12. IN ADDITION TO THE STATE AID PROVIDED IN SUBDIVISIONS TEN AND 4 ELEVEN OF THIS SECTION, EACH COUNTY, THE SALARY OF THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY 5 OF WHICH IS DETERMINED PURSUANT TO SECTION ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY-THREE-A OF 6 THE JUDICIARY LAW, SHALL BE ENTITLED TO RECEIVE STATE AID IN AN AMOUNT 7 EQUAL TO THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN: 8 (I) THE SALARY REQUIRED TO BE PAID TO THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY OF SUCH 9 COUNTY PURSUANT TO SECTION ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY-THREE-A OF THE JUDICIARY 10 LAW, ON JANUARY FIRST, TWO THOUSAND FIVE, NOT INCLUDING ANY ADDITIONAL 11 COMPENSATION WHICH MAY HAVE BEEN PROVIDED BY LOCAL LAW PURSUANT TO SUCH 12 SECTION; AND 13 (II) THE SALARY REQUIRED TO BE PAID TO SUCH DISTRICT ATTORNEY PURSUANT 14 TO SECTION ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY-THREE-A OF THE JUDICIARY LAW, ON OCTOBER 15 FIRST, NINETEEN HUNDRED NINETY-FOUR, OR THE SALARY ACTUALLY PAID ON SUCH 16 DATE, IF HIGHER, MINUS THE AMOUNT OF ANY ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION WHICH 17 MAY HAVE BEEN PROVIDED THEREAFTER BY ANY SUCH LOCAL LAW PURSUANT TO SUCH 18 SECTION. 19 S 2.
