       AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to  establishing
         and  implementing  a  no toll program for the transportation of juries
         deliberating a case before a New York city tribunal
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1. Legislative finding. The legislature finds that the imple-
    2  mentation of a no toll program for the transportation of juries deliber-
    3  ating a case before a New York city tribunal, as provided in  this  act,
    4  will  not significantly impair the receipt and projected receipt of toll
    5  revenues of  the  Triborough  bridge  and  tunnel  authority,  from  the
    6  projects listed in this act.
    7    S  2.  The  public  authorities law is amended by adding a new section
    8  553-j to read as follows:
    9    S 553-J. TRANSPORTATION OF JURIES IN NEW YORK CITY; NO  TOLL  PROGRAM.
   10  NOTWITHSTANDING  ANY  INCONSISTENT PROVISION OF LAW, THE AUTHORITY SHALL
   11  ESTABLISH AND IMPLEMENT A NO TOLL  PROGRAM  FOR  THE  TRANSPORTATION  OF
   12  JURIES  DELIBERATING  A  CASE  BEFORE  A NEW YORK CITY TRIBUNAL WITH THE
   13  TRIBOROUGH BRIDGE, THE BRONX WHITESTONE BRIDGE,  THE  VERRAZANO  BRIDGE,
   14  THE  THROGS  NECK  BRIDGE,  AND  THE QUEENS MIDTOWN AND BROOKLYN-BATTERY
   15  TUNNELS. THE AUTHORITY SHALL HAVE THE POWER TO  CONSIDER  OTHER  MATTERS
   16  NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT THE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THIS SECTION.
   17    S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
