McDONALD -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Health AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to directing the commissioner of health to authorize additional reimbursement to providers of health and dental care primarily serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities for certain services The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The social services law is amended by adding a new section 2 365-p to read as follows: 3 § 365-p. Additional reimbursement. Notwithstanding any other provision 4 of law, the commissioner of health shall authorize additional reimburse- 5 ment to providers of health and dental care primarily serving individ- 6 uals with intellectual and developmental disabilities for uncompensated 7 time, use of staff, and services that are necessary to support treatment 8 of a patient as a result of the patient's physical, intellectual, or 9 developmental disability. Such additional reimbursement shall be suffi- 10 cient to cover the actual cost of providing such necessary support 11 services associated with treatment. 12 § 2.
