STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 6719 2017-2018 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY March 16, 2017 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. BARNWELL -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Judiciary AN ACT to amend the mental hygiene law, in relation to annual reporting requirements for guardians in certain circumstances The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 81.31 of the mental hygiene law is amended by 2 adding a new subdivision (f) to read as follows: 3 (f) The court may, in its discretion, waive some or all of the 4 requirements of this section or impose additional requirements. In 5 determining whether to waive specific reporting requirements, judges can 6 give weight to the amount of years the guardian has previously submitted 7 the required reports without issue. 8 § 2.
