       AN  ACT to legalize, validate, ratify and confirm certain transportation
         contracts of the Eden central school district
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1. All the acts done and proceedings heretofore had and taken
    2  or caused to be had and taken by the Eden central school district and by
    3  all officers, employees or agents of such school district relating to or
    4  in connection with certain transportation contract C258502 of the  2007-
    5  2008 school year with various contractors and all acts incidental there-
    6  to  are  hereby  legalized,  validated, ratified and confirmed, notwith-
    7  standing any failure to comply with the contract  award,  approvals  and
    8  filing  provisions  of  the  education law, general municipal law or any
    9  other law or any other statutory authority, rule  or  regulation,  other
   10  than  those filing provisions defined in paragraph a of subdivision 5 of
   11  section 3604 of the education law, in relation to any  omission,  error,
   12  defect, irregularity or illegality in such proceeding had and taken.
   13    S  2.  The  education  department  is  hereby directed to consider the
   14  aforementioned contract for transportation aid as valid and proper obli-
   15  gations of the Eden central school district.
   16    S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
         FISCAL NOTE.--This bill would legalize, validate, ratify  and  confirm
       certain  transportation  contracts for the Eden central school district.

       The fiscal impact on the state education department to pay the transpor-
       tation aid on these contracts would be approximately $36,919.
         This  fiscal  note  was  prepared  by the New York state department of
       education and is intended for  use  only  during  the  2009  legislative
       session.
