       AN ACT to amend the education law, in  relation  to  building  condition
         survey services
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Subdivision 4 of section  3641  of  the  education  law  is
    2  amended by adding a new paragraph d to read as follows:
    3    D.  NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER LAW, RULE OR REGULATION TO THE CONTRARY,
    4  BUILDING CONDITION SURVEYS OF PUBLIC SCHOOL BUILDINGS CONSTRUCTED  PRIOR
    5  TO  THE YEAR NINETEEN HUNDRED FIFTY SHALL BE UNDERTAKEN EVERY OTHER YEAR
    6  AND A VISUAL INSPECTION SHALL BE CONDUCTED IN YEARS IN WHICH NO BUILDING
    7  CONDITION SURVEY IS CONDUCTED FOR THE BUILDING.
    8    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
