STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 9058 IN ASSEMBLY February 5, 2024 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. LAVINE -- read once and referred to the Committee on Codes AN ACT to amend the penal law, in relation to hate crimes The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Subdivision 3 of section 485.05 of the penal law, as 2 amended by section 3 of part R of chapter 55 of the laws of 2020, is 3 amended to read as follows: 4 3. This act shall take effect on the first of November next succeed- 36 ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
